Sivakarthikeyan shuns star titles

Producer PT Selvakumar and director Perarasu, who spoke at the event, addressed Siva as Ilaya Superstar' and Makkal Star' respectively.

Sivakarthikeyan was the chief guest at the trailer launch of Adhagapattadhu Mahajangale, which is the debut of Umapathy, the son of national award-winner Thambi Ramaiah. Producer PT Selvakumar and director Perarasu, who spoke at the event, addressed Siva as ‘Ilaya Superstar’ and ‘Makkal Star’ respectively.

Siva, who took the stage next, said, “I am not interested in having sobriquets before my name. I am treading a different route. My job is to entertain people and if the things I do reach the masses, that’s enough. I would correct myself if people point out mistakes in my films. I have gone through several hardships before coming to this level in cinema. So, I am striving hard to keep the audiences satisfied.”

Siva, who is sharing screen space with Ramaiah in Velaikkaran, said that he has missed out acting with Thambi Ramaiah in his earlier movies, “When we were shooting in Malaysia for Velaikkaran, Ramaiah sir was the center of attention with his witty and alluring conversations. He is a true example of hard work and perseverance. Umapathy has a dad, who’s a role model. I am sure he will also shine in cinema!”
