Actress Latha slams Kasturi

Her latest tweet in Tamil, was reportedly vulgar and cheap taking a dig at iconic MGR and actress Latha from one of their films.

Actress Kasturi sure knows how to stay in limelight by making funny and sarcastic remarks on her social media handle, taking a dig at anyone and everyone. Her latest tweet in Tamil, was reportedly vulgar and cheap taking a dig at iconic MGR and actress Latha from one of their films.

In the IPL match, the home team CSK, chasing a target of 109, seemed to be batting slowly but steadily and still went on to win with 16 balls to spare. In her tweet, Kasturi compared Chennai Super King’s slow batting during the match against Kolkatta Knight Riders to legendary MGR’s touching actress Latha in one of the romantic songs in his yesteryear film Pallaandu Vaazhga. The tweet roughly translates to — CSK are doing romance with the ball more than MGR did with Latha in Pallandu Vaazhga.

In cricketing term ‘Thadvarang’ means to struggle while in colloquial Tamil it means petting a woman. But this did not go well with netizens who lashed out at Kasturi citing examples from her own films, including the famous Halwa scene with Sathyaraj from Amaidhipadai where she acted in explicit scenes.

Latha also strongly condemned Kasturi for her pungent remarks. Speaking to DC, the actress said, “Kasturi’s comment is very distasteful. I strongly condemn her words. Despite belonging to the same industry, it comes as a surprise that she is making such unpleasant remark. And that too on a legendry actor like MGR. I have been getting calls from several of Makkal Thilagam fans asking me as how I tolerate such things.I also saw many Facebook and blog pages of the iconic actor/politician who are annoyed with Kasturi’s comment and condemned her. I am there in the filmy field for more than 45 years. I have never ever heard anyone talking about me like this. It is better she controls her tongue.”

In a quick damage controlling measure, Kasturi has posted yet another tweet in a defensive manner. “What’s wrong in MGR acting in sensuous romantic scenes with his heroines? And what’s wrong in me giving it as example? Where does indecency come here? I am one among innumerable fans of Vathiyaar’s (MGR) romantic songs and scenes. I have no intention of criticizing him in any manner. I strongly object the allegations that I have degraded their ‘Deivam’ (God). It is incorrect just to hail MGR as a leader and god but to hide his histrionic history. However if my tweet had hurt anyone, I regret for the same.”
