AR Rahman’s ‘Urvasi’ inspires a film

Nirojan was not too willing to open about the theme and all he said was the idea has been treated in a sensitive manner.

There’s an unwritten law in K'town that telly actresses cannot make it on the big screen. But, in the case of Vani Bhojan at least, it appears otherwise. Talked about for her portrayal of a strong woman in Deivamagal, vani is a busy actress in Tamil cinema with a handful of films like NH4, Lockup and Oh My Kadavule, besides a Telugu movie. She has been roped in now for an interesting film titled Mr W. We hear that the film deals with premature balding and hair fall issues and Mr W is to do with wigs. SP Siddharth plays the male protagonist.

Speaking to DC, debutant director Nirojan Prabhakarn says, “The film takes its inspiration from a line from AR Rahman’s famous ‘Urvasi Urvasi’ song —Vazhukkai Thalaiyan Tirupati Pona - Take it easy policy. (If a bald pate person comes to Tirupati, you take it easy).”

“We have captured the incidents that happen to the hero in an emotional manner. All the same it is dealt with in a lighter vein.”
