Director AR Murugadoss teamed up with Vijay for the second time for Kaththi and the film went on to become a blockbuster hit in 2014. Now, the film is being remade in Telugu as Khaidi No 150 with Megastar Chiranjeevi reprising Vijay’s role. Directed by VV Vinayak, this film is produced by Chiru’s son Ram Charan and has Kajal Aggarwal as the heroine.
At a pre-release event of Khaidi No 150, Chiranjeevi thanked Vijay for helping him with the Telugu remake rights of Kaththi. He says, “I came across many good stories, but I wanted to choose the best. That is when AR Murugadoss’ Kaththi came my way. At this juncture, I want to thank actor Vijay who was kind enough to help me. He told me that if I want to remake the film, he would get the remake rights. I have to thank AR Murugadoss and Lyca Productions for this project. I am glad that this story became my 150th film.” Khaidi No 150, which has music scored by Devi Sri Prasad, will hit theatres on January 11. Kaththi starring Vijay and Samantha talks about the plight of farmers. This film has definitely set a benchmark for both AR Murugadoss and Vijay.
Dhanush to produce ARM’s next?
There are rumours doing the rounds that the Kaththi duo, AR Murugadoss and Vijay, is all set to team up for the third time. According to reports, initial talks have begun and this might be Vijay’s 62nd film. Also, it is speculated that the project will be funded by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films. After Bairavaa’s release, Vijay will shoot for his 61st film, which will be directed by Atlee.
