Radhika Apte did a few films earlier in K’town, but it was her pairing with Superstar Rajinikanth in Kabali that gave her prominence. One of her long pending movies — completed in 2013 and titled Ula — has been rechristened as Chithiram Pesudhadi 2 and is finally getting released.

A hyperlink crime drama, CP2 is written and directed by Rajan Madhav, a former assistant of Mysshkin. The new title led to speculation it might be a thematic sequel to Chithiram Pesudhadi marking the debut of Mysshkin in tinsel town. The ensemble cast includes Ajmal Ameer, Vidharth, Ashok, Gayathrie Shankar, Radhika Apte and Blade Shankar. West Indies cricket player Dwayne Bravo, known for his ‘Gangnam’ style of impromptu dances on the cricket field, has made a special appearance in a dance for a song in the film.

“Having watched my dance movements on field during CSK matches, Ula’s producer Srikanth and director Rajan approached me through my agent to appear for a promo song in the film. Initially, there were a few offers from Bollywood. But when I got this opportunity, more so from Chennai, I felt great and I hope I have made the right move,” Bravo had told this newspaper in an earlier interview.
