After Nenjam Marappathillai, Selvaraghavan is all set to direct a romantic-comedy with actor Santhanam in the lead. The makers are yet to announce the title of the film, which has debutant Adithi in the female lead role. Sushanth, the producer of the film, opens up to DC about the genre and the reason for choosing Santhanam.
“I was the one who suggested Santhanam’s name to Selva sir. The director readily accepted it. I thought the role would fit him well, since he is known for his sense of humour and also, the film is a romantic comedy,” he says.
Elaborating on whether the film is an out-and-out commercial entertainer, he says, “The film is a romantic one, but it will have shades of comedy. And of course, the touch of Selva will also be there.”
He adds,“We have started shooting in Hyderabad. USA and Kumbakonam are other locations we are planning to shoot in.”
Talking about the music of the film, he affirms,“This time the duo Selva and Yuvan will bring back a successful album. They are keenly working on it.” The film which also stars debutant Adhithi, is set for a 2017 summer release.
