Will Ajith star in Tamil remake of Article 15?

The movie deals with Article 15 of the Constitution forbidding discrimination on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth.

Speculation is rife that Ajith has chosen to act in Tamil remake of Ayushmann Khurrana’s Bollywood flick Article 15, a critically and commercially acclaimed film. The reason for this is the remake rights of the film have been bagged by Boney Kapoor, who produced the star’s recent Nerkonda Paarvai (a remake of Pink) and is also producing Thala’s next, tentatively titled Thala 60.

Vinoth, who directed Ajith in NKP and also wielded megaphone for Thala 60,said in an earlier interview that he has written a fresh script for Ajith. Meanwhile, it is learnt that Boney indeed has approached Ajith about possible collaboration for Article 15 remake, but the latter it seems responded saying that they will concentrate on the present project with Vinoth and later decide about the remake of the B’town blockbuster.

A few surmise that since Ajith, with his star status, had accepted a film like NKP with a strong message, why not Article 15?

The movie deals with Article 15 of the Constitution forbidding discrimination on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth, and traces a police investigation into three teenage girls going missing from a rural area.

There’s also talk in tinsel town that Dhanush has shown keen interest to act in Article 15 Tamil remake.
