I don't see anyone as competition: Siva

The film bankrolled by 24 AM Studios also features Soori, Napoleon and Yogi Babu. It is all set to hit silver screens on September 13.

Sivakarthikeyan, who’s managed to enter the big leagues of Tamil cinema within a relatively short span of time, says that he doesn’t think of anyone but himself as competition, “Neither am I envious of anyone in the industry,” Siva adds.

The actor who plays a Tamil king in Seemaraja says that he’s proud to be compared with the emperor of the cult classic movie Baahubali. The movie set in Madurai has Samantha paired opposite him, and Simran playing a role with negative shades. It marks Siva’s third collaboration with director Ponram.

“It’s a proud moment for me to portray a king who has some fiery dialogues. It’s been a new experience going back centuries, and this character is a gift. There couldn’t be a bigger compliment than people comparing the film to Baahubali, as it’s no secret the kind of impact that film has had worldwide,” Siva says.

Talking about the preparation that his role involved, he adds, “I had to sport long hair and a thick beard. People who saw me at events with that look asked me if I was sick!”
