Ravi Varman opts out of Indian 2

The makers Lyca Productions officially announced the film is to start its next schedule on August 9 at Hyderabad.

Ace cinematographer Ravi Varman has graciously opted out of Kamal Haasan starrer Indian 2, a sequel to the blockbuster with the same name, as the project was getting delayed. Indian 2 was supposed to be complete by 2019 end, but things did not work out as planned and there were even rumours that the film got shelved. The makers Lyca Productions officially announced the film is to start its next schedule on August 9 at Hyderabad.

Sources say Ravi had also committed to Mani Ratnam’s epic film Ponniyin Selvan, shooting of which is to commence by year end. Considering his busy work schedule, Ravi may have taken a wise decision. One may recall Ravi worked with Kamal Haasan in one of his biggest blockbusters Dasavatharam. And the cinematographer’s last film in Tamil was with Mani in Kaattru Veliyidai.

Meanwhile, Shankar has quickly signed Ratnavelu who worked with him in the Rajini starrer Enthiran. Randy, as he is called, was apparently busy with Tollywood biggies like Rangasthalam and Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy.
