Curtis James Jackson, better known by his stage name 50 Cent, was taken into custody after his concert in Saint Kitts, Caribbean. The 40-year-old rapper was arrested for swearing in public, which is considered illegal, reports TMZ.com.
His representative said in a statement, “Mr. Jackson was only booked to host the show, when he arrived at the festival organizers asked him to perform, he obliged and used the DJ they had there. Unfortunately, they didn’t have the clean version to his tracks, so there were profanities used during his performance. The show was a great success and he will make sure for future trips to St. Kitts that he leaves the ‘motherf-ckers’ in the United States,” the rep told PEOPLE.
The rapper was warned before his performance to not use profanity, but he disobeyed. Police then showed up and took him to the station. It’s a minor offense, but he will have to appear in the court and pay a fine.
