Reel life action hero Hugh Jackman turned into a real life superhero on Saturday, when he helped rescue his 15-year-old son and other swimmers from rip at Bondi Beach.
The actor, best known for his role as the Wolverine, was out enjoying a sunny day at the beach with his son Oscar. Hugh and Oscar were spending their morning surfing, when the tide unexpectedly got rough.
According to 9 News, the actor helped a man tugging a small girl along, get to shore before going in after his son. A video clip shows Jackman waving to swimmers in an attempt to get them to come back to shore. He was also seen lending a hand to other swimmers retreating to shore.
Hugh Jackman touched down in Sydney yesterday, after a month long promotion spree for his latest flick ‘Eddie the Eagle’.
The situation was brought under control when the lifeguards sprung into action and helped rescue other swimmers and surfers at the beach.
