Thousands of fans were moved when they watched Lady Gaga dedicate a song to her cancer stricken friend at Coachella this year, and the world sent her condolence messages when she lost that friend, Sonya Durham, this past weekend.
JustJared.com reports that in an Instagram post that was a tear-jerker, the 31-year-old Perfect Illusion singer revealed the last conversation that she had with her friend.
“Last thing I told her, ‘Go find Joanne, Sonj’,” Gaga said, referring to her late aunt who was the inspiration for her latest album, and added, “Somehow I think she did.”
In the instagram post that was much longer, she wrote, “I will live every day with more passion, more determination, more compassion and more giving than ever before. Because that’s who she was, and it’s what drew us to each other, and I know it’s what she always wanted for me.
“She had this incredible way of releasing me from the anchor of my own sadness that held me back, she loved me fearlessly while I learned how to cope with fame and stay inspired no matter how scared I was. She knew all I cared about was the music.”
