Taking Flight: Madonna starts working on her third directorial project

Madonna is going to be directing the upcoming movie Taking Flight, which is going to be her third directorial project.

The film will be based on the life of ballerina Michaela DePrince, from the memoir Taking Flight: From War Orphan to Star Ballerina. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Madonna said in a statement about the film, “Michaela’s journey resonated with me deeply as both an artist and an activist who understands adversity.

We have a unique opportunity to shed light on Sierra Leone and let Michaela be the voice for all the orphaned children she grew up beside. I am honored to bring her story to life.”
