Madonna set an example to millions of people on Friday when she posted a photograph of her 11-year-old adopted son, David Banda, in robes from his homeland in southeastern Africa while he stood beside a photograph of his biological parents.

DailyMail.com reports that she captioned it, “Be proud of who you are and where you come from.” She had adopted David in 2006 when she was married to Guy Richie. Four of her six kids are adopted from Malawi. She has two biological children.
