Deadpool fans were in for a surprise on Friday when they found their favourite superhero spewing out the word f***, but quiet on words such as a*****e, b***s and even dildo.
According to reports, the Censor Board had cleaned up the movie for India — giving it an ‘A’ certificate and knocking off words such as vagina, bitch and d***. Even the gore has been swept away.
According to a release from the Censor Board, a scene which has the lead character cutting off his hand to escape a pair of handcuffs has been sanitised too. Another scene, which had visuals of bullets being shot through the heads of three people, was taken out too.
But moviegoers were surprised when profanity was clearly heard across cinemas in the city. China has banned the movie due its excessive gore and sex but it’s strange that the reels playing in the city at least have kept the word f***, even as other seemingly innocent words have been cut out of dialogues.
