Selena Gomez is taking control of her mental health. The 26-year-old pop singer recently entered a treatment facility to help address ongoing issues related to anxiety and depression, reports TMZ.com.
The Wolves singer was hospitalised twice within the last few weeks, both times for a low white blood cell count, which can be a side effect for kidney transplant patients. During her second visit, Gomez suffered a panic attack and tried ripping the IV’s out of her arm. Several sources called the episode “an emotional breakdown.”
Selena is currently at an East Coast psychiatric facility and is receiving dialectical behavior therapy DBT. The therapy treats various mental health disorders. Selena has received DBT in the past.
On September 23, Selena announced her decision to take yet another break from social media to “step back” and focus on the “present.”
