American rapper and singer Nelly has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman.
TMZ.com reports that the alleged incident took place at around 3.45 PST early Saturday morning in Washington. Nelly was there for his tour with his Cruise collaborators Florida Georgia Line and the woman says it was specifically the rapper who raped her.
Around 7 am, Nelly was booked on second degree rape charges and was still in custody at the time of going to print.
The alleged victim claims that the two met in a club, and then went back to his tour bus together where he apparently forced her to have sex with him without a condom. The accuser alleges that after the incident, the rapper offered her money, which she declined.
Nelly’s lawyer told JustJared.com in a statement, “Nelly is the victim of a completely fabricated allegation. Our initial investigation clearly establishes that the allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness. I am confident, once the scurrilous accusation is thoroughly investigated, there will be no charges. Nelly is prepared to pursue all legal avenues to redress any damage caused by this clearly false allegation.”
