Selena's dad sues late singer's husband over TV series

The late singer’s father, Abraham Quintanilla Jr., is reportedly suing her husband Chris Perez and production company Endemol Shine Latino over a TV series based on Perez’s book To Selena With Love.

Quintanilla wants the production of the series to be stopped because it violates a contract that was signed by Perez after Selena’s death.

According to the contract, Selena’s father “owns all proprietary rights in the name, voice, signature, photograph, and likeness of Selena.”

“To Selena With Love allowed me to finally embrace my experience. I am now ready to take the important step of bringing my everlasting relationship to life on the screen,” Perez had said about the show, according to Billboard.com.
