Superstar of the decade

Salman clearly has steered clear of the competition when it comes to the Indian box office.

Despite Dabangg 3’s sluggish performance due to the countrywide protests against the CAA and NRC, Salman Khan has clearly stood out as the star of the decade. Box office analysts note that Salman began the decade with Veer and Dabangg in 2010, and has worked in 16 films in this decade ending it with Dabangg 3.

“His total box office collection from these 16 films till now stands at a staggering Rs 2,980 crore at the India box office and will cross Rs 3,000 crore in the days to come. That means that he has an average at present that stands over Rs 186 crore per film. He has given two all-time blockbusters in the form of Tiger Zinda Hai and Sultan, seven blockbusters, and four hits. Only three of his films have performed below average, which basically makes him not just the best bet in the film industry this decade, but also a superstar in the league of Amitabh Bachchan and Rajesh Khanna as well,” opines a trade analyst.

With only three films in the last 10 years not doing as well as expected, Salman clearly has steered clear of the competition when it comes to the Indian box office.
