2.0 will be Akshay Kumar's biggest first day grosser

Booking company bookmyshow.com has reported the sale of over a million tickets online through its ticket-booking portal.

Akshay Kumar’s third release of this year after Padman and Gold is set to be his highest opening ever across all languages as 2.0 has gotten off to a flying start — much lower than films that would release on festivals or on Fridays.

The film is expected to collect a total of Rs 55-60 crore in net collections all over India in three languages. Released a day earlier with no festival around, this could be the highest non-festival Thursday opening for the Hindi version as well.

The Hindi collections of the film are expected to be between Rs 15-20 crore net. Trade analysts predict around Rs 25-30 crore in Tamil, a little more in Telugu because, “the film has opened in 1200 screens in Telugu and 800 in Tamil. Kerala and Karnataka are also expected to gross around Rs 16 crore put together,” says Ramesh Bala, a trade analyst.

Booking company bookmyshow.com has reported the sale of over a million tickets online through its ticket-booking portal. “We have seen a phenomenal response for advance ticket bookings for 2.0. It has been one of the most awaited films of the year and this has reflected well on the ticket sales so far,” says Ashish Saksena, COO-Cinemas, BookMyShow.
