Till class 8 Dhanush stayed with us, later ran away from school hostel: Kathiresan

\"While seaching we got to know that he's with Kasthuri Raja; when we went to meet him, he didn't let us.\"

Mumbai: Today actor Dhanush appeared before the Madurai bench of the Madras Court for personal verification of the identity marks which the Melur couple, Kathiseran and Meenakshi, claims are on his body and which would establish that he was their son.

The verification was done in the registrar’s chamber and the case was adjourned to March 2 for final hearing.

Moments after coming out of the court, Kathiseran made some startling revelations to the media. He said, “Till class 8 Dhanush was with us, then we moved him to new school where he was put in hostel, later he ran away.”

“While seaching, we got to know that he's with Kasthuri Raja; when we went to meet him, he didn't let us; Case adjourned till Mar 2,” added the alleged father.

Earlier, following a direction from the court, counsel for the actor submitted Dhanush’s Class X education certificates and a transfer certificate establishing that he studied in Chennai.

The aged couple – R.Katharesn and Meenakshi from Manampatti village- who petitioned Judicial Magistrate court in Melur taluk alleging that the actor had been born to them on November 7, 1985 also submitted a set of documents in the bench recently.

The court asked both the parties to submit the school documents after actor Dhanush filed a petition in the high court seeking to quash the couple’s petition in the lower court, which also sought maintenance. The actor denies that he is their son and believes that somebody is behind them (the couple) trying to extract money from him.

When the case came up for hearing, Justice G Chockalingam examined the documents submitted by both the parties.

In addition to the school certificates, the actor’s counsel also submitted additional materials to prove that Dhanush first movie ‘Thulluvadho Illamai’ got released on May 6, 2002 contradicting the couple’s claim that the actor had registered for employment in June 2002 and that he was subsequently admitted to class 11 in a Sivaganga school.

Though the transfer certificate submitted by the actor doesn’t mention any identity marks, the TC certificate submitted by the couple mentions the identity marks on his body.

According to the birth certificate submitted by the actor, he was born on July 28, 1983. The couple, however, claim that the certificate is not genuine as it does not have Dhanush’s name on it and was issued on June 21, 1993, ten years after he was born. The couple’s side argue that a birth certificate after ten years from the date of birth cannot be issued without the child’s name.

Besides, it was said that the name of the father in the birth certificate is Krishnamoorthy. The records have a different story to tell. It shows that Krishnamoorthy changed his name as Kasturi Raja on February 18, 2015. However, one thing was evident that the Tamil movie ‘Thulluvadho Ilamai’, released in May 2002, was directed by Kasthuri Raja, the couple's side said.

The actor said his birth name, R K Venkatesh Raja, was changed to Dhanush K Raja in the year 2003. But the typed papers produced before the court said that his name was mentioned as Dhanush in 2002, the couple's side said.
