Watch: Farhan is back with his band, this time with a gritty plan in Lucknow Central

Mumbai: The trailer of 'Lucknow Central' is released and it promises yet another stellar performance by Farhan Akhtar.

'Lucknow Central' exhibits the tale of a simple ambitious man caught in a tragedy that changes his life forever. The film thrives on ambition, passion, friendship and determination.

The film is a story of a small town man from Uttar Pradesh who has a big dream but destiny has a different plan for him. The trailer starts with Kishen Mohan Girotra's dream to form a band, which is not just crushed but smashed when he is wrongly charged for a murder.

The innocent man is further exposed to the realities and cruelties of a jail. A top notch politician plans to have a band competition for the prisoners and that's where Kishen's struggle for freedom begins.

Kishen along with his friends draft a risky plan to escape the jail. With the help of Diana Penty who works for an NGO.

Amidst all the intense drama, Deepak Dobriyal manages to make us smile with his simple, innocent question, "Bhagenge kaise?".

The trailer intrigues you to the core, leaving you anticipated to witness the film.

Interestingly, there is another movie by Yash Raj Films titled 'Qaidi Band' featuring newbies Anya Singh and Aadar Singh, which has the same prime plot of band of prisoners like 'Lucknow Central.'

Though 'Lucknow Central' was announced last year, 'Qaidi Band's trailer was launched on July 18 this year.

'Qaidi Band' might get an upper hand as it releases on August 25 and 'Lucknow Central' on September 15, but at the end content is the king.

In the recent past, we've had examples of Salman Khan's 'Sultan' and Aamir Khan's 'Dangal,' both based on wrestling. However, when the films released, it had different tales with wrestling the main crux of the respective films.

Therefore, let's wait for both the films to hit the 70 mm.

Coming back to 'Lucknow Central', packed with powerful performances by Farhan Akhtar, Diana Penty, Deepak Dobriyal, Ronit Roy, Gippy Grewal, Rajesh Sharma, Inaamulhaq, Uday Tikekar, Sukh Kunwar the trailer looks promising.

Produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Emmay Entertainment and Motion Pictures, the film is directed by Ranjit Tiwari, and is slated to release on September 15, 2017.
