There were reports that Sircar was in talks with Varun for a dark and gritty film and the actor has now confirmed it.
Varun's last intense film 'Badlapur' was a success at the box office and the actor would be hoping for a similar success with this Shoojit Sircar film.
Mumbai: Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan has confirmed that he will be doing filmmaker Shoojit Sircar's movie.
There were reports that the 'Piku' helmer was in talks for a dark and gritty film with Varun in the lead.
Speaking at an event of Singapore Tourism Board along with Silk Air, the actor was asked about the film. Varun told reporters, "Honestly, this is something we are doing for 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania' so, this is not the right place for me to speak about it. But I will confirm the news."
The film is reportedly written by Juhi Chaturvedi, who has in the past penned movies like 'Vicky Donor' and 'Piku.'
Also present at the event were Alia Bhatt and director Shashank Khaitan. 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania' is scheduled to release on March 10.
