Hrithik Roshan donated a substantial amount to the cause and to help Jacqueline in her mission to build homes for at least 10,000 families.

Jacqueline Fernandez recently set out on a mission to help build homes and rehabilitate victims of flood-affected areas in Tamil Nadu. The project 'Jacqueline Builds', that was initially driven by NGO Habitat for Humanity, has now received a lot of support from the Bollywood film industry.

This morning, actor Hrithik Roshan donated a substantial amount to help Jacqueline build homes for at least 10,000 families. The actress took to her social networking handle to share her excitement about the project and thanked Hrithik for his generosity.

It is almost impossible not to notice Hrithik's choice of hashtags. The actor has been in the news lately because of his ongoing bitter court battle with ex-flame Kangana Ranaut.

Jacky had recently been to schools in Tamil Nadu, where she felicitated children who helped raise money for the cause. At the event, she had also said she loved the generosity of the film industry in offering help and support for such causes or charities.

“I always feel like Bollywood or the film industry stands up in solidarity, and I love that about my industry. I have got a lot of support from a lot of my co-stars, people who have been working with me and who have worked with me, so we are always there for each other... very important,” Jacqueline had said at the charity event.

The floods in hit Tamil Nadu last November and December led to great destruction in the state -- loss of lives, assets, and livelihood. The state limped back to normalcy but some relief operations were still in progress to help victims rebuild their lives.

Many celebrities tried to do their bit by extending help. Shah Rukh Khan had donated Rs 1 crore to the Chief Minister’s public relief fund on behalf of Red Chillies Entertainment and team ‘Dilwale’. Akshay Kumar had also donated Rs 1 crore for relief work. Several actors from the South film industries had also helped rebuild homes and create employment.
