Amitabh Bachchan's Sarkar 3' lands in legal mess

Narendra Hirawat has sent a legal notice to the makers claiming that he owns several rights related to the film.

Mumbai: Ram Gopal Varma kicked off the shoot of the third part of the ‘Sarkar' franchise last week, unveiling the first looks of all the characters in the film including Amitabh Bachchan, Manoj Bajpayee, Jackie Shroff, Amit Sadh, Ronit Roy, Yami Gautam, Rohini Hattangadi and others. Bachchan has also been sharing pictures from the shoot, also stating that he had recorded a song for the film.

The film has, however, landed in legal mess as a person named Narendra Hirawat has sent a legal notice to the makers claiming that he owns the rights of making the prequel, sequel, remake and other irreversible world negative rights for perpetuity. He intends to move court if Varma does not reply to his notice.

“I have all the rights since 'Sarkar'. I have heard that Ramu (Ram Gopal Varma) has started shooting for 'Sarkar 3'. If he doesn’t respond to my notice I will go to the court and get a stay on his shooting. Ramu has not initiated any dialogue with me before he started the shoot,” Hirawat told DNA.

Previously, another Amitabh Bachchan’s film ‘Aankhen 2’ had also landed in a similar controversy with a legal notice over remake rights.
