Sunny handles creative side of ventures, I manage the business aspect: Daniel Weber

Mumbai: Sunny Leone’s line of lip colours, Star Struck, is being sold widely and owing to their mantra of promoting their brand, the actress and her husband Daniel Weber decided to choose Libaas designer Riyaz Gangi’s shop situated here for their first pop-up Star Struck Store.

No sooner did Sunny enter the Ghatkopar R City Mall, the public turned berserk. Entering the mall became a Herculean task for the security as Sunny was almost mobbed by the huge crowd gathered. It would not be too much to state that Sunny’s pop-up ‘Star Struck’ idea is also selling as hot as Sunny herself.

With the media interaction getting too crowded, we at Deccan Chronicle requested Daniel and Sunny for an exclusive WhatsApp interview, in which the star husband replied to all our queries as promised.

How was Sunny's experience at Libaas Store?

It was amazing.

Is this new venture an in-house initiative? How did the association come about?

It’s all ours, Sun City is our company. We handle it exclusively, and we have no partners.

In our earlier interaction, Sunny had told us about her restaurant business Mantra. She was planning to set up restaurants abroad. What’s the update?

We looked into opening a restaurant, and wished to thereafter open a chain of restaurants. But later, we decided not to venture into it as the business model was not great.

What kind of an association you two share with Riyaz? Why did you choose his store as your first visit complying to your idea of pop-up Star Struck Store?

We wanted to do our first pop-up, and Riyaz asked if we wanted to use his space. So we said yes since we share a great relationship for a long time.

Sunny had said you both worked very hard on the project. What were both of yours inputs to it individually?

Sunny handles the creative side, and I handle the business side. Then we mutually discuss.

Favorites color of Sunny in lipsticks?

Cherrybomb Red.

How will this venture benefit your children?

They are six months and two years old. Ask me in 20 years. They should work hard for their dreams, like everyone else in life who builds something on their own.

As a father, what responsibilities do you take up for your kids and which ones do Sunny handle?

We both take care of our children equally. When Sunny is away, I take the responsibility of taking care of the kids. However, whenever we both are out for work, our domestic help looks after the kids. We never let them be alone. They are special to us. Their well-being, in every way, in whatsoever manner is our responsibility. We take turns, but always make sure someone is with our kids. We are very hands-on parents.

Yes, we have completed it. We will be releasing the second season in September 2018.
