Rajinikanth's daughter Soundarya appears in Chennai court for divorce proceedings

Mumbai: On Friday, superstar Rajinikanth's daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth and her husband Ashwin Ramkumar appeared in a family court in Chennai.

The couple had initiated the divorce proceedings in late 2016.

According to a leading portal, the legal separation process has been smooth without any animosity, as it is being done with mutual consent. The two will have to work out the separation details and file a joint memo of agreement in the court in the next hearing. Once the court is satisfied with the content after its consultation with both parties, it would grant them divorce.

The portal also reported that the agreement would have details of alimony, if any, and custody of visitation rights pertaining to the child.

Soundarya and Ashwin had got married in 2010, and have a one-year-old son.

Soundarya, a graphic designer by profession, has worked on films like ‘Baba,’ ‘Sandakozhi,’ and ‘Sivaji’ amongst others. She is also the founder of Ocher Pictures.

Soundarya had also directed India’s first motion capture 3D film ‘Kochadaiiyaan’ starring Rajini.

Rajini is currently filming ‘2.0,’ sequel to Shankar’s hit ‘Robot,’ co-starring Akshay Kumar.
