Everyone knows about the special connect that Mahendra Singh Dhoni has with Chennai. The cricketer was the captain of the IPL team Chennai Super Kings for several seasons until that journey ended this year. Under his captaincy, Chennai Super Kings has won the championship twice, consecutively in 2010 and 2011. They had also won the Champions Super League in 2010 and 2014. While officially MSD’s tryst with the team has ended, his heart still beats for Chennai and he is of course much loved by the people there. We hear that Dhoni is planning to launch a proper promotional campaign centred in Chennai for the Sushant Singh Rajput starrer M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story.
A source says, “After the trailer was first launched in Jalandhar as all the bats are made there, Dhoni told the film’s team to include Chennai in the forthcoming tours. Sushant and Dhoni are going to visit many cities in the coming weeks and the latter is particular about keeping Chennai as a major leg of the multi-city tour.” Sources close to the cricketer say that he is very excited about the film and is happy with the rushes he has seen so far. “Dhoni has allotted maximum time to the promotions, however, the exact dates for Chennai are yet to be locked. It will most likely kickstart by the end of this month.”
