Ayushmann shares his excitement on Article 15 premiere at London Indian Film Festival

The Anubhav Sinha directorial will be shown on the opening night at tenth edition of the festival.

Mumbai: Ayushmann Khurrana will next be seen in the role of a cop in Anubhav Sinha’s investigative drama 'Article 15'. Ayushmann plays an IPS officer in this social thriller, who fights against the evils of society. The film has generated immense buzz thanks to its hard-hitting subject and real portrayal of the situation. The film is all set to get a world premiere on 20th June at the tenth edition of the London Indian Film Festival. It will be shown on the opening night at the prestigious film festival.

In exclusive chat with Deccan Chronicle, Ayushmann shared he is quite excited about the film screening as International critics will also review the film. "It is very exciting. This is for first time my film will be screened at this festival and all thanks to my director Anubhav Sinha who is a master craftsman; he will be presenting the film there. It is releasing a week prior to Indian theatrical release. I am very excited as critics from all across the world will review the film," Ayushmann said.

In Article 15, Ayushmann plays a determined cop who strives for justice for two Dalit women who were gang raped and murdered by men of higher caste. The protagonist of the film refresh our memories about Article 15 of the Indian Constitution which prohibits discrimination on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth.

'Article 15' also stars Isha Talwar, M Nassar, Manoj Pahwa, Sayani Gupta, Kumud Mishra and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub. The film will hit the screens on June 28, 2019.
