Arshad Warsi turns vegetarian

When asked if his family members too are following his decision, the actor clarifies that they have the right to make their own choices.

In the last two years, Bollywood celebrities have created a trend with choosing to become vegetarian or vegan. After Shahid Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Sonakshi Sinha, John Abraham and Amir Khan, among many others, Munnabhai actor Arshad Warsi too has given up on meat.

“I have been non-vegetarian all my life, but just recently I gave up meat. Being vegetarian is perfect,” says Arshad, adding that he chose to become vegetarian because of the issues that meat is creating to the environment. “I keep on reading about the effects of meat on Global Warming and then I thought ‘Why am I eating meat?’ But now I realise that it is good for the body system as well,” the Pagalpanti actor shares.

When asked if his family members too are following his decision, the actor clarifies that they have the right to make their own choices. “My wife is anyway vegetarian and my children can eat anything they like. Why should they become vegetarian, it’s their choice,” Arshad explains.

He further shares that we all need to understand that the implications of global warming will be disastrous. “That’s going to happen. We need to think about it and contribute towards resolving the issue. We just see the micro picture but the problem is big,” says the actor in conclusion.
