Telugu filmmakers are not only importing actresses from other industries, but villains too. Several actors from the North have appeared in many Telugu films as baddies, like actor Vivek Oberoi, who will soon be seen as the antagonist in the Ram Charan and Kiara Advani starrer directed by Boyapati Srinu.
Buzz is that the actor has been paid a whopping Rs 4 crore for his role! The film is produced by D.V.V. Danayya who recently delivered a few hits in Telugu including the Mahesh Babu-starrer, Bharat Ane Nenu.
Meanwhile, the second schedule of the film’s shooting is all set to start and the makers are planning to release it for the coming Sankranti.
Interestingly, while Telugu producers bargain with the local character artistes, they are willing to pay a premium when it comes to actors imported from the North. And while there are many character artistes in Telugu, the most proffered excuse for choosing outside artistes is that ‘we need a fresh look’.
