There have been a lot of speculation surrounding a sequel on the 2001 hit film, Gadar Ek Prem Katha. However, in spite of the interest around the film, its director Anil Sharma, who has repeatedly dismissed such rumours, is in no mood to start the sequel any time soon.
Anil, however, is busy exploring a completely different Gadar connection. The director in his next venture is planning to soon launch his son Uktarsh Sharma, who had debuted as a child artist in Gadar. The latest we hear is that daddy Anil is busy scripting a dream debut for Utkarsh on the silver screen.
Talking to us about the same, Anil says, “I am announcing my next film with my son Utkarsh on July 14. It was my father who had launched me 20 years ago with his film Shradhanjali and now I am going to do the same for my son. The film, which is an action-romance, will be titled Genius and is set to go on floors by the end of this year. We will shoot both in India and abroad and the film is slated to release next year.” As for the film’s female lead, Anil says, “We’ve met a few actresses but our doors are open for fresh faces as well.”
There were reports that Anil is planning to launch Sunny Deol’s son in his next, however, the plan apparently didn’t work out and Sunny announced his son Karan’s launch during the promotions of Ghayal Returns early this year. “Sunny sir is launching Karan, so there’s no need for me to get involved,” Anil
concluded.
