Watch: Haseena Parkar's Bantai is the quintessential 'Bombay' song

The song from the Apurva Lakhia directorial features Siddhanth Kapoor as a young and gradually rising Dawood.

Mumbai: Bollywood has often given its fans songs that use the famed Bombay slang. Be it 'Aankhen's 'Fatela Jeb' or 'Shootout At Lokhandwala's 'Ay Ganpat,' fans had lapped them up on each occasion.

Now, there seems to be a brand new entrant into the category, with 'Haseena Parkar's 'Bantai'.

The Apurva Lakhia directorial, which tells the story of the rise of Dawood Ibrahim and his infamous sister, stars real life siblings Siddhanth Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles.

The song, which has been composed by Sachin-Jigar, who have been quite active of late, is reminiscent of Amit Trivedi's 'Bombay Bombay' from 'Striker,' but works despite the similarities.

Sung by popular Mumbai based rapper 'Divine,' the lyrics and local flavour strike a chord instantly, with Siddhanth's striking performance as an up and rising don standing out.

'Haseena Parkar' is slated for a September 22 release.
