The Lagaan' director's last two films have failed miserably at the box office.

Mumbai: The director of Oscar-nominated film ‘Lagaan’, Ashutosh Gowarikar, is now finding it exceedingly difficult to get producers for his next film.
Gowarikar’s next, rumoured to be a musical with superstar Hrithik Roshan, is yet to receive funding, because of which, the film is put on hold. His comeback (acting) film in Marathi ‘Ventilator’ has received 3 National awards.
His last two releases- What’s Your Rashee? (2009) and Mohenjo Daro (2016)- sank at the Box Office.
