He is the son of veteran actor Shakti Kapoor, who aced playing villain roles in Bollywood, and brother to the lovely Shraddha Kapoor. Siddhant was recently seen with Shraddha at the launch of Dhamaka Records, which was launched by their aunt Padmini Kolhapure and their cousin Priyank Sharma. Siddhanth speaks to us on varied topics, including the bond he shares with his sister, how she never recommends him to any producer and his marriage. Excerpts from the interview

Q How do see your journey in the film industry?

My journey has been nice, not a very hectic one. I am very content and happy with my journey although I am not someone who constantly says ‘I don’t want to do this or do that.’ Also, being a professional musician, a poker player and an actor, I am currently doing a lot of things altogether. I just finished shooting for the next season of Bhaukaal in Lucknow, in which I play the negative lead. It has got 100 million views. Additionally, even Chehre, which released recently and in which I play the role of Dhananjay, has brought home good reviews.

Q You and your sister Shraddha were last seen in Parkar. Do you have any plans for more films with Shraddha?

Nothing as of yet, but if there is a good script, why not?

Q How would you describe your bond with Shraddha?

We have a very strong bond, we always reach out to each other whenever we are stuck somewhere — we speak to each other about ten times a day. Shraddha is sweet and we are best friends, and share a very good rapport as brother and sister as well as besties. In fact, we even both offer advice to each other. Whenever I feel low or confused, I speak to her. In fact, when it comes to making decisions or when I need support, I reach out to her first.

Q Did you two face hiccups while growing up — any you’d like to share with us

There were no hiccups as we never carried any problems home. But I was naughty then, and I am still very naughty.

Q And between you and Shraddha who handled or saved the day when things went haywire?

We never got to the point where we’ve had to save anything. I am the older one, so I’d to take her up or she would take me up. In fact, both of us stand up for each other.

Q Is there a sibling rivalry ?

Honestly, I don’t think there’s anything in this world called sibling rivalry. I also believe terms such as sibling rivalry (and nepotism) have no meaning to it, but surely adding to unnecessary controversies for no reason. As I see it, any brother will feel happy seeing you reach places as they’ve also seen the hard work you’ve put in.

Q When Shraddha finds herself embroiled in a controversy, how does the family react?

We don’t really care how the media creates controversies by making news. We know where we stand. We did not react to such things earlier nor do we react to those now.

Q Does Shraddha recommend you to filmmakers?

No, we have our own life and we take care of our respective careers. No one recommends each other or anyone’s careers.

Q Who do you assume will get married first between the two of you — you, the elder brother or Shraddha, the younger sister?

We don’t know, but that being said, we don’t think it’s a good time to get married. I am not worried about Shraddha’s marriage. It is her life, and she’s an adult with a mind of her own, so it is for her to choose if she wants to get married or she won’t.
