The first season of 24’s Indian edition was gripping enough to raise curiosity about the second season. Abhinay Deo and Rensil D’Silva had originally directed the series, but it has been recently heard that Anil Kapoor got his daughter, Rhea Kapoor’s beau, Karan Bulani to direct a few episodes of the show for season two. A source close to the actor reveals, “Rhea’s boyfriend Karan was roped in to direct 24 a month ago. Daddy Anil gave him a break as director.”
On being contacted, Rensil confirmed the news. “The makers roped in Karan to direct a few episodes of season two, around a month back. We are running short of time and need to finish the shoot by October, somehow. Abhinay had to look after Force 2 as well, and just the two of us can’t handle the entire show by ourselves since it’s a big one. We have split units for the show. While Abhinay and I shoot some episodes, Karan shoots the others at the same time.”
Anil has reprised the role of ATU chief Jai Singh Rathod for the second season of 24. The last season of the show saw the actor saving the life of the future Prime Minister of the country, played by Neil Bhoopalam. This time around, actors like Sikandar Kher, Ritu Shivpuri and Surveen Chawla have joined the cast, in pivotal roles.
