Pitching for young India

Boman launched a new initiative of water conservation by the organisation.

Bollywood actor Boman Irani, known for his outstanding performances in films, was in the city on Wednesday. He was the chief guest at the Annual Day celebrations of Yi — Young India, a non-governmental, not-for-profit organisation.

Boman launched a new initiative of water conservation by the organisation. Connecting it to Young Indians, he says, “The development of a country depends on the youth’s choice and their determination. With thoughtful initiatives such as those that Young Indians is taking on, the youth can surely help in building a promising future.” The actor also shared his insights on the transformation of the film industry. Talking about his experience in Tollywood, we remind him how his dialogue Devil is back from his Tollywood debut Atharinitiki Daredi is still popular. He chuckles at its mention and says, “Yes, I’m still known and greeted here with that phrase. Tollywood always has that zeal in movies. Besides that too, I have always had a great time with the roles, directors, technicians, and the food here.”

Talking of the transformation that he has observed in the movie industry, he praises Taapse Pannu, Kangana , Ayushman Khurrana and Rajkummar Rao for their mesmerising acting. “The industry has gone through a drastic change in the past 20 years. Technicians and writers are getting better.

But writers are always the stars. They are honing their skills and that is evident with movies such as Thappad and Bala. In essence, masala-content movies are ending, and it’s the start of strong charactersin movies,” says Boman.
