Unfair to speak on it: Arjun on missing out playing Kapil Dev

Befor Ranveer Singh was signed, there were reports that Arjun was in talks with the makers to portray the role.

Mumbai: Arjun Kapoor believes it is unfair to speak now, after the actor missed out on playing the role of celebrated cricketer Kapil Dev in Kabir Khan's next.

Befor Ranveer Singh was officially roped in to play Kapil, there were reports that Arjun was in talks with the makers to portray the former Indian cricket skipper in the film titled "'83", which chronicles the story of Indian team's first-ever World Cup win.

Asked if he is disappointed with the outcome, Arjun told reporters, "I don't think it's a question to answer because primarily it is not something I am doing. There are too many facets and factors when people are affiliated and names are put to films, a lot of misunderstanding happens. It's not the correct place and time."

The actor said it would be unfair on his part to speak and trivialise the film.

"If and when I do feel like speaking about other people's films, I would. But I think it is unfair to the legends who are involved in the film, for me or for us to trivialise the film.

"This is not my film, it's a film made for India. It is a very important film for the country. I don't want to trivialise it by talking about the personal aspect of it. That is not necessary," he said.

Arjun, 32, was speaking at the launch of the new Audi A5 range here last night. He was the showstopper for designer duo Shantanu and Nikhil at the event.

The actor, who wore an Indo-western fusion of a white kurta teamed up with a long black jacket, said he is no more nervous about walking the ramp.

"I enjoy doing it. Earlier I used to think if people love watching you. You are also not sure initially about how they will react. But now it feels good. I am not really nervous," he said.
