Censor people are grammatically retarded: Vikram Bhatt

Love Games revolves around a couple's sexual fantasies that involve swapping of partners at a party.

The Bhatts are no strangers to run-ins with the Censor Board. This time, it is Vikram Bhatt’s Love Games that is under the censor scanner for its content. To begin with, the board isn’t pleased with the number of times the F word is uttered — or the way it is uttered, rather. “Censor people are grammatically retarded,” rues the filmmaker adding, “They told us to remove the word ‘fu**ing’ in the film, since it is an ‘adjective’, and allowed the use of ‘f**k’ since it’s a verb. They also told us to use the word ‘b***h’ only once, as opposed to three times which was the original plan.”

The disagreements didn’t end there. “They even asked us not to show any drug consumption despite the character being a drug addict! How else will we show a drug addict? What is the need for cuts in a film after we’ve asked for an ‘A’ certificate? It’s bizarre.”

Love Games revolves around a couple’s sexual fantasies that involve swapping of partners at a party. About the theme Vikram continues, “It is about the upper class, the kinds that go to posh parties and swaps partners to play sex games. In the age of Tinder and dating sites, what is hidden? Threesomes are not a big deal because they exist. In fact, it happens a lot in the middle class today.”
