Mumbai: Radhika Apte, who is known for her unconventional choice of films, shocked many as she bagged R. Balki’s Pad Man. Radhika, who plays Akshay Kumar’s wife in the film, can’t stop gushing about the director, as well as her co-star Akshay.
She says, “The film will be an eye-opener. I feel proud to be part of a project, which is very informative for me as well. Balki has treated this topic with sensitivity. Also, Akshay is the right person to play this role; he has great appeal.”
The actress, who has had a busy year shooting for films, wants to take it slow in 2018. She states, “Right now, I am not accepting a lot of work I have done a lot of work last year. I have just finished shooting for Baazaar, Sriram Raghavan’s next film. Now, I want to wait and watch what comes my way. I am looking for something that will excite me.”
The actress who has been in the business for a while now, admits that being an actress is a pricey affair. She says, “It’s an expensive job. People think we make a lot of money but we also have to spend a lot of money too. You have to take care of your looks, make-up, skin, appearances and trainers.”
But the actress takes it in her stride and says it’s only an occupational hazard. “It is part and parcel of my job, because I am in the film business. You will never see me dressed up when I go out with my friends or dinner. That’s a choice I have made,” she concludes.
