Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who stands tall in Bollywood on the merit of own his talent, was written off by one of his close friend, the famous producer and director Karan Johar.
Karan gave away a secret at the promotional event of Ittefaq. Karan spoke about his first ever meeting with SRK. “I had gone to meet director Anand Mahendroo to audition for his show Indraprastha. Since Aanand was busy shooting, I had to wait for four long hours, I noticed a gentleman sitting right opposite me on a sofa. He waited patiently, but he kept sipping tea one after the other after small intervals,” he said
“Literally after waiting for about four hours, I could see a ray of light, as Anand walked out of his shooting zone. He passed me and went up to this gentleman and said, ‘Thodi der ho gayi hai’ (it got a little late). For Anand, four hours time was just a short time of wait,” he scoffed.
He continued, “However, to my surprise, this gentleman got up from his sofa and said ‘Nahi nahi koi baat nahi. I love the tea in your office. It is really delicious, and thus I could relish and gulp a few cups. But I waited only because I wanted to tell you that I will not be able to participate in this show. Thanks a lot’.”
Karan says Anand was shocked, “He said ‘You stayed back just to inform me you wouldn’t be doing this show?’ The gentleman walked away. Anand told me I was on. A little while later he said ‘Did you see his (SRK’s) attitude? He’s done only one TV show Fauji and carries a lot of attitude. Iska kuch nahi hone waala’.”
Karan and SRK have both co-produced Itefaq and were at a promotional event of the film along with the cast. The team is not promoting the film in malls and neither is it interacting with the media. The reason being that Karan was worried the question and answer session could lead to them giving away the suspense of the movie. After long, both Karan and SRK decided to finally get the entire cast together.
