We keep hearing about how Priyanka Chopra is doing great things in Hollywood, but with every new release, we’re left wondering if the Quantico star is just a one-hit-wonder in America’s tinsel town. The trailer of PC’s upcoming film Isn’t It Romantic looks like this may be her most abbreviated role yet.
In the trailer, the actress appears on screen for no more than five seconds in a story dominated by comic actress Rebel Wilson. And we’re seriously wondering why she’s playing such an insignificant supporting role. In her last Hollywood outing, A Kid Like Jake, PC at least had the consolation of playing second fiddle to the highly-acclaimed Claire Danes in a film that made an important statement about the rearing of children and gender issues. But this release isn’t doing her any favours.
And we’re not the only ones puzzled by her recent career moves. A B’wood director feels that she’s wasting her talent in America. “After Quantico, they don’t know where to fit her in. She is struggling to make a name for herself there. She should come back home. The sky is the limit for her in India. Why is she wasting her time doing inconsequential movies in Hollywood?” the director says.
