It was very sad to hear that a 14-year-old boy stabbed his teacher to death (Boy stabs Hindi teacher to death, Feb. 10). This has shocked the entire nation. I am working as an assistant professor and was very disturbed by this news. We teachers guide students to better their future. Students who are poor in studies should be counselled by parents and teachers. I request film-makers and the censor board not to glorify violence.

The news that a schoolboy stabbed his Hindi teacher to death shocked me. This incident proves that human values are fast losing ground among the new generation. I think the main reason for this is the lack of moral education, the immoral life of parents, and the glorification of violence in the media. Parents should teach children what is right and wrong. Teachers must also be very careful while dealing with students.

The violent murder of a teacher in a Chennai school is a shameful act by a depraved child. The boy's parents must be taken to task. Most parents nowadays do not teach moral values to children. The mother should be the first to teach these values. I hope all mothers will take a note of this, and will teach these values to their children to make them better citizens.

Congrats to DC for publishing the story of the mother and her incapacitated son (Woman seeks euthanasia for incapacitated son, Feb. 7). It is indeed a tragedy that the highly talented young man's life was destroyed by an accident. The poor mother was left with no option but to approach the court to put an end to the pain they were undergoing. I request DC to publish such stories so that we readers can help them.
