I guess we should start accepting terrorist activities as part of our daily lives. Even though that may sound a bit cruel, given our weak political will, that is probably the best remedy. There is a solution to every problem, but it takes passion to overcome such problems like the Israelis and the Americans. If we want to live in a world of sympathy and admiration for our non-violence, so be it. However, we cannot continue to live with a non-violent policy when people are being killed. Shouldn’t there be a limit to our tolerance? I am sure if Mahatma Gandhi was alive today, he would have changed his ahimsa policy. Unfortunately, the principles he has inculcated in the Indian society cannot be erased easily.

Our security agencies have the habit of going through the CCTV cameras after the terrorists have completed their task. What is the point in waking up after a crime has been committed? I wonder why the cops have installed CCTV cameras at public places. They should be monitored frequently instead of just being viewed after a bomb blast. If these cameras were monitored frequently, many of the crimes could have been prevented. I hope the authorities will now do their work more diligently.

FAST FOR DEVELOPMENT
This is with reference to the report Jana warns of violence if T-state is not carved out (July 15). I fail to understand why the politicians are chanting the separate Telangana slogan while ignoring their duty to develop the region. If they had taken interest to develop the region earlier, it would have been developed by now. There would have been no need for bifurcation too. The leaders must go on fast for development of Telangana. They should withdraw their threat to block people from Seemandhra as it will create havoc in both the regions.

The comments of Mr K. Jana Reddy do not reflect the sentiments of Telangana stalwarts. More than the terrorists, such politicians who instigate the people need to be punished quickly. How can a politician like Mr Jana Reddy declare a war against society and get away with it like a hero? Why is government hesitating to take any action against him? There are many people who are supporting Telangana silently while doing their work without such outbursts. Instead of indulging in such heroics, let him start contributing something for the society and people who have reposed their confidence in him.
