Honolulu (Hawai), Feb. 3: US Attorney-General Robert Kennedy, brother of President John Kennedy, and his wife, were rescued from drowning during their brief stop-over here after their sail-boat capsized in the ocean, off the Hawaian coast, it was disclosed today.
The Kennedys’ were helped back to shore by two US Navy pilots who were water-skiing nearby. The accident reportedly occurred on Friday while the Kennedys currently on a world tour, took some time off, during the stop-over in Hawai to go sailing in the Pacific ocean.
Meanwhile, President Kennedy today banned all imports from Cuba. The President said in a statement, accompanying a special proclamation that the trade embargo, effective from February 7, would cut Cuba’s dollar income and “limit the capacity of the Castro regime to engage in acts of aggression and subversion in the western hemisphere.” — Reuter
