Nov. 26: The city police has detained a BBA graduate from Cuddalore after he created a flutter near the chief minister’s house in Gopalapuram at midnight on Wednesday. He claimed that he had come to the city in search of a job. However the driver of the call taxi in which he was travelling stopped the vehicle in front of the police fearing that the youth was up to something fishy.
Mohamed Mubarak (29), hailing from Cuddalore worked in Chennai a few months ago but went back to his native place after he became mentally unstable. However on Wednesday he paid an advance amount to Ramesh Kumar, a call taxi driver and hired a taxi to come to the city. During the journey Ramesh had a suspicion that Mohamed was mentally unstable since he could not express himself clearly and did not specify the destination he wanted to reach.
“The duo, along with two of Ramesh’s friends reached Chennai at night but were driving around aimlessly on the streets since Mohamed did not specify the address,” police said.
When the car reached Gopalapuram and Ramesh spotted police personnel on duty near the chief minister’s house he immediately stopped the car and approached them for help. When the police questioned the youth he told them that he had come to the city to take up a job as a car driver. Mohamed’s parents were informed about the incident and their ward was handed over to them on Thursday morning. However no case was registered and the youth was let off with a warning.
