Rain disrupts play in India-Australia ODI

Rain interrupted play in the first cricket one-dayer between India and Australia here on Sunday.

Put into bat by India, Australia were 35 for 2 after 11 overs when heavens opened up in the first match of the tri-series which also features Sri Lanka.

For Australia, Matthew Wade (21) and skipper Michael Clarke (5) were at the crease when the disruption occurred.

Earlier, Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and elected to bowl in the first one-dayer against Australia here on Sunday.

Indian opener Virender Sehwag has been rested from the match, while veteran Sachin Tendulkar has been included in the playing XI.

For Australia, wicketkeeper-batsman Matthew Wade and all-rounder Dan Christian will make their ODI debuts.

Their pace spearhead Brett Lee is out of the match and the tri-series, also featuring Sri Lanka, due to a broken foot.

Lee picked up the injury during the second Twenty20 international against India on Friday.
