Priyamani has no time for marriage

Priyamani has no time for marriage

“It all started with my brother’s marriage,” says Priyamani while dismissing rumours about tying a knot anytime soon.

It was during this time that her father asked her about her plans of getting married and whether he should start looking for a match for her.

“I bluntly told him that you can’t kick me out of the house so soon,” she smiles and adds, “I told him that marriage was not important right now and I still have a lot to achieve as an actress.”

Since the topic of love marriage has been broached, we ask if there’s someone special on the horizon. “If I come across Mr Right, I’ll announce it from the roof tops” she points out.

The actor has taken up a new challenge of portraying an author-backed role in Kshetram where she has been equated as a desi Lara Croft.

“It’s a new avatar and I am anxiously waiting for the audience response. Although, it’s not a typical desi Lara Croft kind of a role, but I have my share of kick butt scenes. In other films, as a heroine I had to stand aside and watch heroes throwing their fists, and I had fun doing the action this time,” she says.

However, not ready to give up her glam roles, she says, “I have always loved doing glam roles and will continue to do so since these have fetched me an immense following. But does she think that her dearth of offers in T-town is because of Gen X stars being wary of working with her as she’s mostly paired with middle-aged heroes?

“That’s not a fair argument as I have worked with Nagarjuna and Jr NTR. Both are superstars in their own ways. In fact, you should pose this question to them instead of me since I am comfortable working with anyone if the script is good,” she clarifies.
