The Tamil Nadu Film Directors Association on Saturday pitched in to end the standoff between FEFSI and the TN Film Producer’s Council.

The Directors Association president Bharatiraja said after a meeting that a committee would be constituted immediately to hold separate and joint talks with FEFSI and the producers for two days from February 7 and an amicable solution would be reached before February 9. Film production would resume from February 10, he said.

Film producers and other staff are at loggerheads over the wage revision agreement.

Even some directors such as Cheran were highly critical of the demands made by FEFSI.

In a recent meeting, Cheran said the films that could be completed in Rs 50 lakh were costing more than Rs 1 crore because of stringent conditions put forth by FEFSI.
