The Text Santa presenters are thrilled after their Christmas charity appeal raised more than £4million. It was launched by Phillip Schofield and Christine Bleakley, the fiancee of Chelsea footballer Frank Lampard, on December 11. The proceeds will now go to groups including Carers UK, the Samaritans and the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity. On Christmas Eve, it was announced Text Santa had raised £3,441,000. But now This Morning presenter Holly revealed on the show: “The total amount raised is £4,120,000. Well done and thank you to all of you. It was our first year of Text Santa and it’s been a real treat to be a part of it.” Phillip added: “Yes, you’ve got to explain something brand new, you’ve got to get the message across about what we’re doing and the charities involved.”
